Texture Property

Texture Property Dialog provides the the settings of parameters about surface of objects, such as color, reflection, and bump mapping.

ColorSurface Color. You can select from a single color (mono color) or color curve.
MappingValid only when you use color curve. Select parameter by which the color denends.
MappingWhen mapped globally, the texture pattern does not move even if the object move.
PatternWhen you make texture by pattern, you can use some of texure patterns provided in Pov-Ray. Some patterns. such as checker board, are valid in preview mode.
Scale/TurbScaling of Mapping. Non-zero value of turbulence gives randomness to the pattern.
Specular
DiffusionBrightness ob object at the side of light source.
AmbientBrightness ob object at the opposite side of the light source.
RoughnessThis parameter determines the shape of specular highlight.
Transmit TypeDetermines translucency of the object surface.

When "Dissolve Full" is selected, dissolved image would be shown for semi-transparent object.
Combining with ensemble averaging, semi-transparent object can be rendered properly.

For details of method for transparency, see the document page in Zindaiji3 about Stochastic transparenct.

Bump Map

Bump MapYou can use several patterns prepared in Pov-Ray as bumpmap. You can use up to two bump map simultaneously.
degreeDegree of bump map.
scaleScale of pattern.
turbulenceNon-zero value of turbulence gives randomness to the pattern.

Mirror

Min and MaxMinimum and maximum values represent tangential and normal reflection factors. Setting the former value larger than the later would make the object unphysical.

Interior

SSS FactorSetting non-zero value makes subsurface scattering (SSS) on. Larger value makes the object more translucent.
Back DiffuseIf the surface would be lit even if the light comes from the back side, like a thin paper.
Fade_ColorThe ray which pass through the object in long way becomes to this color. Note that this behavior is approximate one and slightly unphysical.
Fade DistanceThe scale to apply Fade_Color effect. Smaller value makes the effect more effective. However, 0 makes this effect off.
IORIndex of refraction. Transparent objects, like grass or water has IOR larger than 1.
DispersionDegree of IOR dependency on wave length. With value other than 1 make prism like effects.
